Noe Happenings

It's amazing how much Noe really gets and understands. This age is amazing. I forget how she's always watching, until I turn around and see her doing something we do without ever explicitly having taught her to do it.

 She's got turning the iRobot on and off down to a science.

 She tries to help fold laundry and loves trying to put on our shirts/socks/shoes.

 She feeds her baby seahorse by putting cheerios into his back. Then she turns him around to make sure he's happy ;)

 She gets Oso outside and ready for his walk. And then they wait for me.

 She scrubs down miscellaneous objects.

 She turns dad's razor on and off (and plugs it into the wall--even though she knows she's not supposed to).

 She insists on being right by dad's side so they can work on the car together. She knows more about tools than I do.

Noe's Birthday

I was reading through my last post and I decided I needed to revise it. I wanted to do a little Noe tribute instead of just sticking in the birthday festivities with the rest of the post. I remembered being in tears on the eve of Noe's 1st birthday (May 14, 2012). Part of me was grieving that her infancy seemed to be gone, but the other part was just overwhelmed with love for her and all we'd experienced together in the last year. She was my little miracle baby. She did not just survive a really hard pregnancy, but thrived. I still remember her perfect skin and sweet features when she was born. She looked like a newborn doll. We loved her so completely from the first moment. Here are a few pictures of Noe that the hospital photographer took of her when she was two days old, as well as some pictures of her on her 1st birthday and then some family pictures right before she turned 1.

We spent her 1st birthday amongst the Lilac's (where we also took the family pictures) then we went home where Jameson joined us after work with cupcakes. Noe was so sweet and dainty about eating (or rather sampling) her cupcake. She only wanted a few licks of frosting off her fingers. We're so grateful to have her in our family. 

At the time of me writing this post, Noe is 14 months. She loves saying the words she knows--dog, Oso, food, this, mama, dada, ba (for ball and book). She loves to play in the backyard or go anywhere Oso goes. She is strong willed and sweet and surprises me every day!

April-June 2013

We're continuing to fall more and more in love with New England. Here are some photos of our lives of late.

Several Saturdays back, we headed to Newburyport for the day. It was such a charming little place and we felt at home being near the sea.

 Noe is such a little explorer. It's so fun to see the world through her eyes! People are always commenting on how focused she is.

Aunt "E" sent her this sweet birthday dress and we had a little photoshoot in it!

 I still thinking she's the prettiest little sleeper that ever graced the earth. Biased? Maybe.

While Jameson's parents were here, we went to Concord. I fell in love with this darling town. Noe loved it too.

Kendall visited us a week or so after her parents left and we did lots of touristy things in Boston! Here we are about to board the T!

 We took a trip to DC for a good friend's wedding and had a blast!

We did lots of playing at home. Peek-a-boo has been a long time favorite.

A few weeks later, we went to Rockport and ran into some friends. Here Noe is, trying to hug her little friend. She's quite affectionate. She gives hugs, kisses, and pats on the back--which are my personal favorite.

A couple of my friends and I signed up for a mom and baby swim class for a few weeks and Noe LOVED it. She splashed around the pool looking for rubber ducks the entire time. It was such a delight to watch her!

She still loves to swing.

And loves to stand and get into everything. (This was the night she stood for the first time alone!)

For my birthday, Jameson surprised me with a day trip to Newport, RI. It was one of the best days I've had all year. Definitely my favorite birthday yet. He was so thoughtful and sweet and it was just so great to be there all day with nothing to rush home to. We can't wait to go back!

One of my friends from church surprised me with the most beautiful arrangement I've ever seen. (She does flowers, clearly). This picture doesn't do it justice, but I had to put it in because it just made my day.

I just love my little family so much and I'm so happy we're in Boston! A Noe birthday post will follow!
